() has found widespread indications of silver at its Plateau prospect in Queensland, Australia.
The junior has already hit impressive gold grades from a drilling programme at the deposit, which it declared a major gold system in November.
Any silver, however, would a bonus.
The metal was identified from X-Ray Flourescence (XRF) analysis of the October 2019 drill samples and needs laboratory testing to be confirmed though all the holes showed a significant silver presence, Rockfire said.
The best result was a bumper 32.6g/t over 11m which was part of a 187m assay from near the surface.
David Price, Rockfire’s chief executive, said: “These silver grades are very pleasing and may add to the future economics of the project.”
Rockfire intends to submit the samples to the lab for definitive analysis, he said, while it will also test the elevated and anomalous zinc and lead that were also present.
